Math Circles of Chicago

Together, We Can Make an Impact

At its core, Math Circles of Chicago serves students and families. Through our empowering and engaging math programs, we connect with students who want to explore their passion for math and expand their opportunities for the future. The curiosity and drive of these students, along with the support of their families, is what powers our mission. In order to provide students with high-quality math programs, Math Circles of Chicago partners with all those who share a passion for making math enrichment equitable and accessible.  We work with skilled teachers, STEM professionals, graduate students, undergraduate students, donors, funders, board members, and leaders of schools, districts, and communities to ensure all students in Chicago have the opportunity to learn and love math. MC2 has grown to be the largest math circle program in the country (and likely the world). We offer a new model that many cities across the country are seeking to emulate. The Math Circles of Houston launched in the fall of 2022 using our model, and we have prospective partners in Baltimore, Buffalo, Columbus, and other locations. Supporting MC2 has a big impact, as it will help us influence the conversation around who deserves access to high quality math enrichment. Our answer: everyone does. ALL of MC2’s programs are free. We are generously supported by local and national foundations, along with hundreds of individual donors, big and small. Our staff are leaders in the field and our Board includes Chicago leaders like former Chicago Public Schools CEO Janice Jackson, Lakeview principal PJ Karafiol, and Corey Morrison, the Director of Math at CPS.
