Phi Beta Kappa Recognizes Math Circles of Chicago for Innovation

On May 10th at the Chicago History Museum Phi Beta Kappa recognized the Math Circles of Chicago “For innovative efforts to build community connections through mathematics.” The award ceremony was held as part of PBK’s naming the city of Chicago as its first Arts & Sciences City of Distinction. Four local organizations were chosen for recognition; in addition to MC^2, the University of Chicago’s Arts + Public Life, the Odyssey Project at Illinois Humanities, and Northwestern University’s Science in Society were all awarded a $5,000.
