Welcome University of Chicago YSP!

By September 30, 2015Uncategorized

I am pleased to announce that our partnership with the University of Chicago is official! For years the UofC has administered its Young Scholars Program (YSP) through the efforts of people like Paul Sally, John Boller, Diane Herrmann, and MC^2’s own Julienne Au. YSP has consisted of two parts—a four week daily summer enrichment program, and ‘Academic Year YSP’, which has met on Saturdays during the standard school year.

Academic Year YSP will now be named Math Circles of Chicago: UofC YSP. We will work closely with the Mathematics Department at the University of Chicago to integrate our programs, and we will look for professors, PhD students, and our growing group of highly motivated math teachers in CPS to lead our math circle there. You can register for UofC YSP until October 16th; the site serves students in grades 7-12. Our first session at UofC will be on Saturday, October 24th! See the Programs and Registration pages for more information.
